What to Expect on the Day of a Liquid Rhinoplasty Treatment

Your liquid rhinoplasty treatment will take place at the Newport Beach office where you had your consultation. Here, Dr. Ackerman will review the treatment plan with you, including which fillers he will use and what to expect during the procedure.

He will begin the procedure by applying a topical agent to numb the areas where the filler will be injected. When the area is sufficiently numbed, he will carefully and strategically inject the filler, reshaping and resizing the nose to meet your goals. The needle will feel like a brief prick but will otherwise be painless.

After all of the injections have been administered, Dr. Ackerman will apply an ice pack to reduce swelling and gently massage the filler to create the desired shape. You can expect some mild swelling, redness, and bruising for the next few days.

Liquid Rhinoplasty Recovery

Your Guide to Post-Liquid Rhinoplasty Care

The recovery period after liquid rhinoplasty is quite minimal and generally pretty manageable. You will experience some mild swelling, bruising, and redness, but icing your nose will help these side effects subside more quickly, typically within a few days to a week.

Do not touch, massage, or apply pressure to your nose because the filler will need a few days to settle. This includes blowing and picking your nose. Sleep on your back with your head elevated to minimize swelling and avoid putting pressure on your nose.

You can go back to regular activities within 1-2 days, including desk work and errands. You should avoid strenuous activities and sweaty activities, including saunas, hot tubs, and hot yoga, for a few days.
