I wanted to write to thank you for the referral your gave me over a year ago to Dr. Boris Ackerman in Newport Beach. I came to see you for very heavy thighs and legs, wondering if you could do liposuction on that area. I appreciated your honesty when you told me that I would not have a good response to liposuction alone because I had "loose skin" and really needed a leg lift. You told me to only go to someone who did a lot of lower body lift, as it is a difficult surgery. You referred me to Dr. Ackerman and I underwent a "Lower Body Lift" in April 2003. I was in surgery for 5 hours and it is really only after the fact that I realize what a disaster this could have been in the wrong hands. Dr. Ackerman is such a skilled surgeon that the results are beyond my expectations. Dr. Ackerman told me that this is the longest incision in plastic surgery and the first couple of weeks were fairly uncomfortable, but manageable. I was back at the gym in 4 weeks and continue to do great.

I feel an overwhelming need to come up with exactly the right words of gratitude, but as in most cases like this, simple words are failing me. I lived with a body that carried me through life, but was a constant reminder of my birth defect and of all the pain I went through as a teenager. I know that I could and did find happiness without perfection, but this surgery has made my options much more ubiquitous.
